Tom Glass

Thank you Tom for assisting at last weekend’s “Dating Old Photos” talk given to the Willamette Valley Genealogical Society at the State Library. Attendance was very good and I hope everyone had a little fun and learned some facts to help them better establish the date of an old photo.

Tom has an extensive collection of Buffalo Bill images and also a huge collection of Civil War generals of the Union Army. He is busy finishing a book about these generals that will include their picture and a short biography.

In this picture of Tom he is holding an ambrotype of a soldier drummer. It had unusual clarity and in fine condition, it just needed the hinge to be glued and tightened. That’s going to cost you lunch, Tom!

Clicking FaceBook, Twitter or other icons promotes the article and my work.
