Texas Jack Photo Restoration

Texas Jack was too young to be in the Civil War, but Jeb Stuart made him a courier and scout. After the war the young Virginian moved to Texas to become a cowboy. Later he met and worked with Buffalo Bill on hunting expeditions and participated in a few skirmishes with the Indians. His reputation and charisma carried over to the stage where he, Buffalo Bill and Wild Bill Hickok put together a stage act that proved very successful. On tour he met his soon to be wife, Giuseppina Morlacchi, a dancer and actress from Milan, Italy. She is credited with bringing the Can-Can to America. Texas Jack was immortalized in comic books of the late Victorian era. Unfortunately, Texas Jack caught pneumonia in Leadville and died at the age of 39.
